Given

A rectangular field is 60m long and it's breadth is 15 m less than its length.

Cost of turfing per m²=₹2.50

Cost of fencing is @₹3/m

To Find

Cost of turfing and cost of fencing

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

length of the Rectangular field =60m

Given that breadth is 15m less than its length

According to the question

Breadth=60-15=45m

Now, to find the cost of turfing we must have to find the area of Rectangular field.

➠Turfing means to cover a piece of land with a layer of turf grass.

Area of Rectangular field=length×breadth

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=60\times45

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=2700m²

Cost of turfing =₹2.50×2700m²

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=₹6750

Now,we have to find cost of fencing so,it is clear we have to find the perimeter.

➠Fencing means to cover outer boundary of field with wire or other material.

Perimeter of Rectangular field=2(length+ breadth)

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=2(60+45)

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=2(105)

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=210m

Cost of fencing the field @₹3/m=₹3×210m

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:=₹630

Extra information=>

Area is Space or region which is covered by a solid object/figure it is said to be area of that object.

Area depends upon the dimensions of the figure.If dimensions is larger then larger will be the area of that object/figure and vice -versa.

PERIMETER

Perimeter is the total distance occupy by a solid 2D figure around its edge.
