QUESTION:

1/ Find the LCM of 2520 and 2268 by prime factorisation.

And

2/ Explain why 7×11×13+13 and 7×6×5×4×3×2×1+5 are composit numbers .

3/ Show that 5+√3 is irrational

SOLUTION:

1) LCM of 2520 and 2268

= 2×2×3×3×7×9×10

= 22680

explanation is in the attachment.

2) Here 7×11×13+13 = 1001

And , 1001 = 7×13×13

1001 has it's factors more than 1 . It has more than 3 factors

so, we called it as a composite number.

And, 7×6×5×4×3×2×1+5 =5055

Here, 5055 = 3×5×337

the number has more than one or two factors . thus we can consider the number as composit number .

Answer:

8. Find the prime factorization of 2520

2520 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 × 7

Find the prime factorization of 2268

2268 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 7

Multiply each factor the greater number of times it occurs in steps i) or ii) above to find the lcm:

LCM = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 5 × 7

LCM = 22680
