Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

W={u, v, w, x, y, z},

X={13,15,17,19,21}

To find:-

Find the following:

i) n(W)

ii) n(X)

iii) Is n(W) =n(X)?

Solution:-

Given sets are :-

W={u, v, w, x, y, z}

The number of elements in the set W = 6

I) n(W) = 6 ---------(1)

and

X={13,15,17,19,21}

The number of elements in the set X = 5

ii) n(X) = 5 ---------(2)

From (1) &(2)

We notice that

Number of elements in the set W is not equal to the number of elements in the set X

n(W) is not equal to n(X)

iii) n(W) ≠ n(X)

Answer:-

I) n(W) = 6

ii) n(X) = 5

iii) n(W) ≠n(X)

Used formulae:-

  • The number of elements in a set A is called the Cardinal number of the set A and it is denoted by n(A).
