(-1)^3 - 3(-1)^2 + a(-1) + b

-1 - 3 - a + b = 0

-4 -a + b = 0

b - a = 4 .............equation 2

by solving from 1

b= 0 substituting in eq2

- a = 4

a = - 4

so a = -4 , b = 0
