Let the amount spent be x

he spent = 2x + 3x + 4x +1734 = 4299

9x +1734 = 4299

9x =4299 - 1734

9x =2565

x =2565/9

x =285 rupees

money spent on pens = 2x

=2 × 285

=570 rupees

money spent on pencils = 3x

= 3×285

=855 rupees

money spent on erasers =4x

= 4×285

= 1140 rupees

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Total amount that was with him = 4299+1734=6033

2x + 3x + 4x = 4299

9x = 4299

x = 4299/9

x = 474.33

So cost of pens = 948.66

So cost of pencils = 1422.99

So cost of erasers = 1897.35

Verification

948.66 + 1422.99 + 1897.35 + 1734 = 4299 + 1734 = 6033
