SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The domain of the function

 \sf{}f(x) =  \sqrt{x}  + 4

EVALUATION

Here the given function is

 \sf{}f(x) =  \sqrt{x}  + 4

Now

f(x) is well defined when \sqrt{x} is well defined

Also  \sqrt{x} is well defined when x \geqslant 0

Hence f(x) is well defined when x \geqslant 0

So f(x) is well defined for all non-negative real numbers

Hence the domain of the function is

 =  \sf{} \{ \: x  \in  \mathbb{R} :   \: x \geqslant 0 \: \}

 \sf{} =  \: [ \: 0,  \infty \: )
