No. of oranges brought for ₹1=₹8/10.40.

Therefore no. of oranges brought for 16.90=₹(8/10.40×16.90)=13.

price of 8 oranges = rs 10.40
price of 1 orange = 10.40/8
= 1.3 rs
In rs 16.90,no. of oranges can be bought =16.90/1.3
= 13 oranges (answer)
