C2H4O → CH4 + CO

at t = 0

pressure of C2H4O = 80 mm

at t = ending time ,

total pressure = 120 mm

pressure of C2H4O + pressure of CH4 + pressure of CO2 = 120 mm

(80 -x) + x + x = 120

80 + x = 120

x = 40mm

hence,

pressure of C2H4 , CO2, CH4 = 40 mm

now,
for 1st order reaction ,

t =1/K lna/( a - x)

K = 1/20 ln80/40
=ln2/20

now, half life of this reaction ,
T½ = ln2/K

= ln2/(ln2/20) = 20min

abhi178: i hope this will correct
