hope this will help you - solidarity was popular due to the following reasons: 1)it was the 1st independent trade union in poland. 2)it was protesting for the basic rights which the people did not had due to the government. 3)it included all sort of people whether a farmer or a labour or an electrician in their trade union.

b. In 1980, the workers on Lenin Shipyard went on a strike,in support of a women worker who was unjustly dismissed.
c. The strike grew and spread under Lech Welesa who later became its leader.

e. As the movement spread government was forced to sign 21 point agreement with Walesa , known as the Gdansk agreement .
