8 tins each containing 48l 125ml of a petroleum oil are emptied into an empty barrel. If the total quantity of oil is transferred to 5 jars each containing same quantity, find the quantity of oil in each jar.

Number of new jars = 5

To find,

Capacity of the new 5 jars.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Total oil in the 8 jars = 8 × 48l 125ml = 8 × 48125ml = 385000 ml

[Term of unit conversion : 1 litre = 1000 ml]

Capacity of the new jars = (385000÷5) = 77000 ml = 77 litres

Hence, there will be 77 litres of petroleum oil in the each of the 5 new jars.
