8. Two cubes have their volumes in the ratio 1 : 27. The ratio of their surface areas is
(a) 1:3
(b) 1:9
(c) 1:27
(d) none of these
HINT. a^3/b^3 = (a/b)^3=(1/3)^3=
a/b = 1/3=a^3/b^3=1/9=6a^2/6b^2=1/9

Volume of first cube =a³cube (a is side length)

Volume of second cube = 6³ (6 is side length)

a³/6³=1/27=(1/3)³

3a=b.

Ratio of surface area =6a²/6b²=

a/b²=(a/3a)²=1:9
