Features of permanent settlement -

1. To streamline the revenues of the compnay, Cornwallis changes the payment schedule from annual to decennial. 

2. Zamindars or landlords were only the revenue collector of the lands and they had no ownership over the lands.In the permanent settlement, the company recognized them as owners of the soil.

Features of temporafy settlement -

1. people practice hunting,gathering,shifting , cultivation

2. Due to climatic condition or circumstances, people need to change their homes.
