The principle when the light rays falls on the smooth surface, the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence, also the incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal to the surface all lie in the same plane.

Statements (ii) is correct about laws of reflection.

ii) The angle of reflection is always equal to the angle of incidence.

  • We know that, the normal is not a ray. Its just form of energy. Thus the given statement is wrong.

  • In reflection, the angle of incidence is never equal to the angle formed the normal. This is because the normal forms always 90° with the mirror but if the incident ray also forms 90° with the mirror, it will also behave as the normal. Hence the given statement is wrong.

  • In the case of reflection the angle of reflection never becomes as 90°.

Hence all the other statement is wrong except the (ii).
