Nalanda- 95 kms south of Patna is famous for ruins for Nalanda Mahavihar. It was the second oldest university in Indian continent after Takshila. It existed between 5th to 12th century. It was destroyed by a Muslim invader Bakhtiyar Khilji and his army in 1203 AD.
