80 books arranged over three shelves. if 7 books are moved from the top shelf to the middle shelf and 8 books taken away from the bottom shelf, there would be an equal number of books on each shelf.

IF 8 BOOKS ARE REMOVED FROM THE BOTTEM SHELF THEN 80-8=72

DEVIDE 72 BOOKS IN THREE SHELF 72/3=24

THERE ARE 24 BOOKS IN THE MIDDLE SHELF

NOW REMOVE 7 BOOKS FROM THE MIDDLE SHELF 24-7=17

THERE  WHERE 17 BOOKS IN THE MIDDLE SHELF.
