Given,

     800cm^3 of gas is collected at 650 mm pressure

 By ideal gas law, PV = nRT

 We have to nd out the pressure(P2 ) at which at which volume gets reduced to 40% of its original volume

       As the temperature is constant,

         P1V1 = P2V2

P1 = 650 mm ; V1 = 800 cm^3

P2 = ?            ;  V2 = (40/100) x 800 = 320 cm^3

Therefore,

P2 = (650 x 800) / 320

     =  1625 mm
