8000J of heat is given to 200g of copper at 20 degree celcius. what is the final temperature,if the specific heat capacity of copper is 0.4J/g degree celcius.

Initial temperature T₀ = 20 C

We have to find final temperature = T

We know :

Q = m c Δ T

= > 8000 = 200 × 0.4 × ( T - 20 )

= > 40 = 0.4 × ( T - 20 )

= > T - 20 = 40 / 0.4

= > T - 20 = 100

= > T = 120 C

Therefore , final temperature is 120 C.
