Answer:

SOLUTION

Given:

A shopkeeper bought 6 tonnes of wheat at Rs. 1.80 per kg and sold 4.7 tonnes out of it at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg. And the remaining quantity sells at Rs. 2.50 per kg

Concept Used:

Profit = Selling price – Cost price

1 tonne = 1000 kg

Calculation:

The shopkeeper bought 6 tonnes of wheat

He bought a total of 6 × 1000

⇒ 6000 kg of wheat

The cost price of wheat is Rs. 1.80 per kg

The cost price of 6000 kg wheat is (6000 × 1.80)

⇒ 10800

4.7 tonnes i.e. 4700 kg wheat sell at price Rs. 2 per kg

The selling price of 4700 kg wheat is (4700 × 2)

⇒ 9400

Remaining wheat = (6 – 4.7) tonnes

⇒ 1.3 tonnes

⇒ (1.3 × 1000)

⇒ 1300 kg

The selling price of 1300 kg of wheat is Rs. 2.5 per kg

The total selling price of 1300 kg wheat is (1300 × 2.5)

⇒ 3250

The total selling price of 6000kg wheat is (9400 + 3250)

⇒ 12650

Total profit = (12650 – 10800)

⇒ 1850

∴ He will get a total of Rs. 1850 profit
