from 3x+2y=4, y = (4-3x)/2
using it in secnd eq.,
8x + (5/2)(4-3x) = 9
8x + 10 - 15x/2 = 9
x/2 = - 1
x=-2

y=(4+6) /2 = 10/2 = 5

Heya Friend !!

Please view the solution in the attachment .

Verification : -
Putting value of x and y in both the equations
8 x + 5 y = 9 and 3 x + 2 y = 4

8 x + 5 y = 4
=> 8 × (-2) + 5 × 5 = 9
=> - 16 + 25 = 9
=> 9 = 9
Therefore , LHS = RHS

Similarly , in 3 x + 2 y = 4
=> 3 × (-2) + 2 × 5 = 4
=> (- 6) + 10 = 4
=> 4 = 4
Therefore , LHS = RHS

Hence , the required values of x and y are - 2 and 5 .

hope it helps :)
