According to the question, we have to add the expressions: (8x² + 7) and (-8x²).

Out of the two terms (8x² + 7) and (-8x²) it is evident that the constant doesn't have a pair to be added with but the term 8x² has a similar term -8x² to be added with.

Hence after adding the two similar terms: (8x²) and (-8x²) first, we get 8x² - 8x² = 0.

Now we are left to add with the constant and the sum i.e. 0 and 7

So, we get 0 + 7 which is equal to 0.

Therefore, on adding (8x² + 7) and (-8x²) we get 7 [Ans]

Given two expressions are

8x² + 7 , - 8x²

Addition of given expressions

= 8x² + 7 - 8x²

= 8x² - 8x² + 7

= 7
