- Now before cutting we have
- Since there is alternate interior angles, theta 1 = theta 2
- Now we have T1 cos theta = mg
- So T1 = mg / cos theta
- Since the string is similar T1 = T2
- Now after cutting we have
- Since mg sin theta acts in the horizontal direction, we have mg cos theta acting downwards.
- Therefore T1 = mg cos theta.
- So it is considered as mg cos theta always acting with angle theta with mg sin theta.
