9. A golden-coloured cube is handed to you. The person wants you to buy it for 1 lac, saying that is a gold
nugget
. You pull out your Chemistry textbook and look up gold in the mineral table and read that its density
is 19.3 g cm-?. You measure the cube and find that it is 2 cm on each side and weighs 40 g. What is
its density ? Is it gold ? Should you buy it?

Answer:

Density is equal to mass/volume

so mass is 40 g

and volume is a^3 or A cube

so A is 2

A^3 =2^3 =8

so density will be mass/volume

40/8 gcm3 =5 gcm3

so it is not an gold

we should not buy it

thanks I hope this will help u
