9. A tower casts a shadow of length 100 m at a time when a 12 m high pole casts a shadow of length
16 m. Find the height of the tower.

In ∆ABC and ∆PQC

angle C = angle C (common)

angle B = angle Q {each 90�( sorry I didn't

mentioned)}

so, ∆ABC ~ ∆PQC( by AA similarity)

hence, AB / PQ = BC / QC

AB / 12 = 100 / 16

so, AB = 75m
