9. Anil travels from place A to place B and
travels from place B to place A. Anil travels one-
third of the distance and Akhil travels one-fourth
of the distance. The distance travelled by Anil is
one kilometre more than the distance travelled by
Akhil. What is the distance between place A and
place B? (In km) please explain ​

let the distance from a to b be x

vice versa also x

therefore total distance is 2x

anil travels 2/3 of 2x=4x/3

akhil travels 1/4 of 2x=2x/4=x/2

acc. to question,

4x/3=x/2+1

4x/3=x/2+2/2=(x+2)/2

4x*2=3(x+2)

8x=3x+6

5x=6

x=(6/5)km

Answer:6/5 km.
