The cost of an apple = Rs. 3 and the cost of apples = - Rs. 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let cost of an apple = Rs. x and cost of a pear = Rs.  y

To find, cost of an apple =? and cost of pear a cost = ?

According to question,

9x+4y=11 <strong>...(1)

Also,

5x+2y=7 ...(2)

Multying (2) × 2 and subtracting (1), we get

x = 3

Put x = 3 in equation (1), we get

9\times 3+4y=11

4y=27-11= - 16

y=- 4

Hence, the cost of an apple = Rs. 3 and the cost of apples = - Rs. 4.
