  • Ratio of total surface area of 64 drops to that of a single drop is 4/1

Let the radius of each drop is r .

So, total 64 drops combines to form one larger drop.

Volume of 64 drops = volume of one bigger drop

ans we know that volume of sphere is = 4/3 πr³.

So,

64 × 4/3 πr³ = 4/3 π R³ where r is the radius of smaller drops and R is the radius of bigger drop.

R = 4r

Surface energy of bigger drop is (U) = S × A = S × 4πR²

Surface area of smaller drops (U') = S × A = S × 4 π r² × 64

So , Ratio of surface energy is 4/1
