joining AC

in triangle ABC

by pythagoras

 {h}^{2}  =  {b}^{2}  +  {p}^{2} \\  {h}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  +  {3}^{2}  \\  {h}^{2}  = 25 + 9 = 34  \\  {h} =  \sqrt{34}

so,displacement is

 \sqrt{34}
