Let intercept on x axis be 'a' units

so, intercept on y axis be 'a' units.

So Equation of line using line intercept form is

 \small\bold\red{ \frac{x}{a}  +  \frac{y}{a}  = 1 } \\ \small\bold\red{ =  >  \: x + y = a.......(1)} \\ since \: (1) \: passes \: through \: (5 \: ,  - 3) \\ \small\bold\red{ =  >  \: 5 - 3 = a }\\\small\bold\red{ =  >  \: a = 2} \\ \small\bold\red{so \: equation \: (1) \: becomes} \\ \small\bold\red{x + y = 2.}
