If 2(x - y)2 = 116 and xy = 24, find the value of x2 + y2.

⭐Solution⭐

Given here

2(x-y)2 = 116

or,

(x-y)= 116/4

(x-y)= 29...(1)

and,

xy = 24...(2)

we know

(x-y)² = x²+y²-2xy

keep value

(29)² = x²+y²-2×24

=>x²+y² = 841-48

=>x²+y²= 793
