reaction between oxygen and nitrogen is given by,
here we see that 2 moles of N2 combine with 3 moles of oxygen and give 2 moles of N2O3.
a/c to question,
9 mol of o2 and 14 mol of n2 here allowed to react.
when 3mol of o2 remain unreacted till then we have to find moles of n2o3 is formed.
at initial time, mole of N2O3 = 0
mole of O2 = 9
mole of N2 = 14
after some time,
mole of O2 = 9 - 3x
mole of N2 = 14 - 2x
mole of N2O3 = 2x
a/c to question, 9 - 3x = 3
or, x = 2
then, number of mole of N2O3 is formed = 2 × 2 = 4 mol.
