sum of two integers is

-12.Difference is -2.Smaller

number is.?

\huge{\underline\red{\underline\blue{\underline\green{Question:-}}}}

Let the numbers be x and y

ATQ,

→ x + y = -12 .....(equation 1)

→ x - y = -2........(equation 2)

Eliminating equation 1 nd 2 , we get :–

→ y = -5 ( solved in the attachment)

so by substituting value of y in equation 1 we get :–

→ x = -17

The smaller number is -5 i.e y

\boxed{\tt \green{Answer = y(-5)}}

Answer:

let the integers be x and y

given,

x+y=-12

x-y=-2

subtract the equation

2y=-10

y=-5

x+y=-12

x-5=-12

x=-7

therefore the smaller number is -7
