Answer:

9. The reaction in which heat energy is liberated by the reactants is called an exothermic reaction.

eg:   Carbon + Oxygen gives  Carbon Dioxide + Q

The reaction in which heat energy is absorbed by the reactants is called an endothermic reaction.

eg:  Nitrogen + Oxygen gives 2 nitrous oxide (2NO)  -  Q

10. Carbohydrates present in food are broken down to form glucose. This glucose combines with oxygen in the cells of our body and provides energy. This reaction is known as respiration. hence, respiration is considered as an exothermic reaction.

11. In a combination reaction two or more substances are combined to form new substance while in the decomposition reaction one substance decomposes into two or more substances. Hence, the decomposition reactions are called opposite of combination reactions.

Answer:

9.reaction which heat is accsoft is called endothermic reaction and reaction in which heat is released is called exothermic reaction.

eg - endothermic - 2AgBr absorbing sunlight results in 2Ag + Br2

10. respiration is called as exothermic reaction because heat is released along with carbon dioxide

11. decomposition reaction is called opposite of combination reaction because combination reaction it is a reaction in which a single product is formed from two or more reactants and decomposition reaction is when two or more substance combine to form a single product decomposition reaction is just opposite of combination reaction
