Which of the following plant cell parts is not found in onion cells?
A. Chloroplast
C. Vacoule
B. Cell wall
D. Mitochondrion
The clear epidermal cells exist in a single layer and do not contain chloroplasts, because the onion fruiting body (bulb) is used for storing energy, not photosynthesis. Each cell has a cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus and a large vacuole. The nucleus is present at the periphery of the cytoplasm. The vacuole is prominent and present at the centre of the cell, surrounded by cytoplasm.

The plant cell part which is not found in onion cells is Chloroplast (option A).
- A modified-stem system is exemplified by the onion plant.
- The onion plant grows underground and isn't exposed to sunlight, so it can't use photosynthesis to make its nourishment.
- The onion plant does not require chloroplasts because it does not prepare food.
- The onion plant has a bulb-shaped modified stem that stores and reserves nourishment.
- Onion cells contain vacuole, mitochondria, and cell walls, but chloroplast is absent because it does not prepare food.
