9-x-4=y+7

-x-y=7-5

-(x+y)=2

x+y=-2

2(x+y)=4-34

x+y=-30/2

x+y=-15

hey mate! question is wrong here.

it should be 9(x-4)=y+7 , 2(x+y)=4-34

solution:

9(x-4)=y+7.......(i)

2(x+y)=4-34....(ii)

from eq(i),

9x-36=y+7

9x-y=43........(iii)

from eq(ii),

2x+2y=-30

x+y=-15......(iv)

eq(iv)×9 => 9x + 9y = -135......(v)

eq(iii) - eq(v) => -10y=178

y= -178/10

putting the value of y in eq(iv), we get

x+(-178/10)= -15

x= -15 + (178/10)

x= 14/5

.•.x=14/5

y= -178/10

Devashish7309: your first equation is wrong
momica: No, actually I have corrected the 1st equation
