90% of runners started a marathon completed it. Of those, 30% are men. If 270 men completed the marathon, then how many total runners started the marathon, then how many total tunners started the marathon?

(270) / 0.3 = 900 runners completed.

900/0.9 = 1000 total runners

Thank you for asking this question. First of all we will find the number of participants which actually completed the run:  

30% of men completed the marathon and in numbers 270 men completed it.

30% = 270

1% = 270 ÷ 30  

= 9

100% = 9 x 100  

= 900

Now we will find the number of participants:

In numbers they are 900 and in percentage they are 90%

So, 90% = 900

1% = 900 ÷ 90  

= 10

100% = 10 x 100  

= 1000

So the final answer is 1000
