9000 square tiles of size 20cm are required to pave the floor if a hall. Find the area of the floor of the hall in sq.m

Answer:

Floor area: A : 20000 mm x 15000 mm

Tile size : B : 150 mm x 150 mm

Tiles required for floor : A ÷ B = 13333.3333. Rounded 13334 Tiles.

SKIRTING :

Perimeter: 20000 + 20000 + 15000 + 15000 mm = 70000 mm

Since tile size os just 150 mm, better go for 150 mm skirting itself (instead of 100 mm).

So permiter tiles: 70000÷150 = 466.66

Total Tiles: 13333 + 467 = 13800
