here,

15x + 40/3 -25 = 0

= >15x + (40 -125)/3 =0

=> 15x + (-85/3) = 0

=> 15x = 85/3

=> x = 85/ (3×15)

=> x = 17/15

hence, x = 17/15 so, putting the value of x in equation.

9x + 8y = 15

9(17/ 15) + 8y = 15

=> 51/5 +8y =15

=> 8y = 15 -51/5

=> 8y = (75 -51)/5

=> 8y = 24/5

=> y = 24/(5×8)

=> y = 3/5

so,

x = 17/15 and y = 3/5
