9x - y + 7 = 0 ----(1)

13x - 4y + 5 = 0

y = (5 + 13x)/4 ----(2)

Substitute (2) in (1),

9x - (5 + 13x)/4 + 7 = 0

36x - 5 - 13x + 28 = 0

23x + 23 = 0

23x = -23

Therefore, x = -23/23 = -1

Substitute value of x in (2),

y = 5 + 13(-1)/4

  = 5 - 13/4

  = -8/4

Therefore, y = -2

So, x = -1 and y = -2
