A 10 cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lens of focal length 12 CM. the distance of the object from the lens is 18 cm. find the nature position and size of the image formed .​

Height of object= 10cm

Focal length = 12 cm

Object distance= -18cm

Image distance= ?cm

So, 1/v+1/u=1/f

1/v= 1/12-1/18

1/v=3/36-2/36

1/v=1/36

v=36cm

Now m=36/-18

m=-2

Nature of image:-

1.image is virtual and erect.

2.it is formed behind the lens.

3.it is diminished in size.

4.it cannot captured on screen.
