Because when object is falling it has intial velocity u=0 and it is telling that it has hit the ground by v=10m/sec so as acceleration due to gravity is 10m/sec^2 or 9.8m/sec^2 so by third equation of motion

v^2=u^2+2as

10×10=0×0 +2×10×s

100/20=s

5=s

M= 10kg

Let H be the height

V = 10ms

KE = mgH ( g=10)

KE = 1/2mv²

=> 1/2× 10 × 10 × 10

=> 5×10×10

=> 500

kE = mgH

500 = 10 × 10 × H

500 = 100 × H

H = 500/100

H = 5
