A 13 foot ladder is leaning against a
Vertical wall. The lowest point of the ladder
is 4 feet from the wall, what is the height
of the point where the ladder touches the wall ?​

we will solve this question through pythagoras theorem, i.e. (H)²=(P)²+(B)² i.e. hypotenuse squared=perpendicular squared + base squared

we have,

perpendicular= length of ladder=13 feet

base= distance of ladders lowest point from the wall= 4 feet

we have to find the highest point of ladder that touches the wall, i.e. hypotenuse

thus, (H)²=(13)²+(4)²

=169+16

=185

(H)²=185

H=squareroot of 185

=13.6
