Question??

A 150 M long train crosses a 500 m long bridge in 30 seconds what time will it take to cross a platform 370 long..

Given=> Length of train= 150m

Length of BRIDGE= 500m

since, first of all it covers the distance od 150m and then 500m and then 150m..

hence, total distance ,s1= 150 + 150+ 500 =800m

time, t1 = 30s

then velocity , v =\frac{s1}{t1}

v =\frac{800}{30}

v = \frac{80}{3}ms^{-1}

for crossing the platform of length, s2= 370+150+150= 670m

then time, t2 is given by...

v=\frac{670}{t2}

t2 =\frac{670}{80/3}

t2 = \frac{2010}{80}

t2 = 25.12s..

so time taken to cross platform of length 370m is 25.12s
