A 150m long train is moving with a uniform speed of 45km/h.the time taken by the train to cross a bridge of length 850 meters is?

Given ,

length of train = 150 m

length of bridge = 850 m

speed of the train = 45 km/h

to convert km/h to m/s , we have to multiply with 5/18  as it is the conversion factor.

speed of train = 45 × 5/18

                       = 12.5 m/s

The total distance covered by the train will be the sum of the length of train and the sum of length of bridge as the train has to just cross the bridge.

S = 150 + 850

  = 1000 m

let's keep the distance as 1000 m as we need to find the time in seconds.

time taken = total distance / speed

t = 1000 / 12.5

 = 80 sec

Hence , the time taken by the train will be 80 sec.
