U=-12cm

Using lens formula:

1/f=1/v-1/u

1/18=1/v+1/12

1/18-1/12=1/v

-1/36=1/v

V=-36 cm......

Also we know that:

Height i/height o= v/u

Height i= +7.2 cm .... thus the image is real and inverted ....
