A 2-dimensional ball 'A' is divided into 2 parts, namely m and n (see the diagram). If m=(m+n)/2, prove that A–m=(m+n)/2.

A=m+n (from question)

m=(m+n)/2 (given)
2m=m+n
2m-m=n
m=n

therefore, A=m+n
A=m+m
A-m=m
A-m=(m+n)/2 (it is given)
