● Explanation -

Let t be time at which rate of energy dissipation equals rate of energy storage.

In inductor-resistor circuit -

I² × R = I × L × di/dt

R × [1-e^(-t/2)] × E/R = L × [e^(-t/2)] × E/R × R/L

[

1-e^(-t/2) = e^(-t/2)

1 = 2e^(-t/2)

1/2 = e^(-t/2)

e^(t/2) = 2

Taking antilog,

t/2 = ln(2)

t = 2 ln(2)
