GIVEN
A 2000kg car starting from rest attain a speed of 20m/s in 40 seconds.
TO FIND
Find the acceleration of car
SOLUTION
- Initial velocity (u) = 0
- Final velocity (v) = 20m/s
- Time taken (t) = 40s
- Acceleration (a) = ?
Apply formula
→ v = u + at
→ 20 = 0 + a*40
→ 20 = 40a
→ a = 20/40 = 0.5m/s²
Hence, the acceleration of car is
0.5m/s²

❍ We shall here usne the first law of motion, that is,
So substituting the given values,
➳ 20 = 0 + a × 40
➳ 20 = 40 a
➳ = a
➳
_______
Some related formulas:-
✭ s = ut + ½ at²
✭ v²-u² = 2as
_________
Note:-
✪ The weight of the body has been given to make you confused. Here there is no use for that.
✪ Always see the given things and then equate it with the appropriate formula.
