A 20m high tree is broken over by the wind makes an angle of 30 degree with the ground .find at what height the tree was broken.

uh know.....in height n distance chapter......ur future is always a right angle triangle....so make the triangle n let it b ....ABC the three edges.....let ur hypotenuse be AB .....perpendicular AC ......base BC....ur angle is 30°....height after the tree is broken 20m.....since we need to fine the height if the tree before it was broken therefore......

sin 30°=AC/AB

where sin 30°=1/2 or 0.5 ( itz better if uh take the fractional unit....easy to calculate)

sin30°=20/AB ( AC=20m)

1/2=20/AB (sin30°=1/2)

cross multiplication

AB=(2*20)m

AB=40m

since AB is the hypotenuse i.e., the broken part of the tree ,therefore

adding AB and AC we get the height of the tree before it was broken.... i.e., (40+20)m = 60m....itz the answer
