Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given a 250 m long train travels at the speed of 90km/h

Let the length of the train be 'l' = 250m

Let the speed of the train be 'v' = 90 km/hr

= 25 m/s

(1 km =1000 m, 1 hr = 3600 s, so 1 m/h = 1000/3600 =5/18

=>90 km/h = 90*5/18 = 25 m/s)

In 1 sec , the distance traveled by train = speed * time

=25*1

=25 m

2) To pass a signal light , train has to cover its entire length

hence we know distance = speed * time

So to calculate time which is equal to

distance/speed

= 250/25

=10 sec

3)Train to cross a 225 m long platform, it has to cover the entire length of the platform + length of the train itself

So total distance, the train has to cover is 225 + 250 = 475 m.

Now, to calculate the time taken to travel

= Distance/Speed

=475/25

=19 s
