a-2b=2
=> a-2b-2=0 .....(i)

2a-b=7
=>2a-b-7=0 .....(ii)

Multiplying eqn. (i) with 2.

=> 2a-4b-4=0 .....(iii)

Subtracting eqn. (ii) from (iii)
we get,
-3b+3=0
=>b=1

Now, in eqn. (i)
a-2b-2=0
=>a-2(1)-2=0
=>a=4

A-2b=2 .... 1
2a-b=7 ..... 2

From eq 1
a= 2+2b
substitute in eq 2
2 (2+2b)-b=7
4+4b-b= 7
b= 3/3
b = 1
then
a=2+2b
= 2+2
=4
